This is a lightweight MSI to be installed on the location you will be running SSMS.  This will work on the server or on your client.  Instrutions come with the MSI.  Run the setup.sql, this creates a stored prodedure that executes DMV's.

Now you can Right Click on the SQL instance, select reports, custom reports, you will need to navigate to the performance_dashboard_main.rdl located in the directory where the MSI was run.  Default is C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Performance Dashboard

This will produce a report that you can drill into for performace issues
